Client: Walton Construction Company
Program: Rebranding

Challenge
Following the acquisition of the company from its founder by an executive management team, Walton Construction Company was in a fast-growth mode with multiple offices, staff additions and project work that crossed the country. The company’s brand not only needed updating, Walton wanted guidelines to help manage brand consistency throughout the organization. The company needed a strategy that would refresh the look and put in place controls that would protect the brand integrity from the incremental changes that can creep into any large organization.

Solution
The agency laid out a strategy that would update the logo and tagline, adding marks for each geographic market; renew the stationery package for every office; update signage of the offices, projects and banners throughout the organization; create ad templates including design and copy for established campaign elements; developed proposal packages for general marketing, RFP / RFQ materials and contract covers; produced a recruiting brochure; and addressed all in a complete graphic standards manual that showed how the company brand was to be managed across all applications.

Result
Over a period of time, the company brand and materials were refreshed, with key players oriented to the graphic standards and how to apply them. The updates, applied according to priority and budget, will serve the company for the foreseeable future, with the discipline in place for brand consistency. The program earned Sturges Word an award at the annual PRISM gala hosted by the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
