Challenge
Kansas City is home to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and many other well-branded museums and attractions. The objective of the campaign was to reassert the Toy & Miniature Museum’s role as an important Kansas City cultural institution, reconnect it with the community and grow its attendance.
Solution
Once the benchmarks were established for target audiences, community engagement and average attendance, the agency determined that it was essential to increase the visual appeal of the museum, reach out on a grassroots level to reconnect the museum to the community, and develop the most fundamental materials to enhance the visitor experience.
Results
Sturges Word updated the brand throughout all of its print materials, created a new visitor’s map and guide, executed an ongoing media relations campaign, created marketing materials, and supported museum events and programming. The revamped brand and materials increased visitor awareness and satisfaction leading a 44 percent increase in attendance, a 36 percent increase in membership, and a boost in donations.
