The Port Authority of Kansas City, Missouri wanted to update the design and functionality of its website to better convey its brand, projects and community impact. The client’s priorities for the project were exceptional execution of the content, graphics and navigation; repurposing existing content; and ease of maintenance. Its goals included a site that more accurately reflected the brand and, creating a community of dedicated users who bookmarked the site.

Solution
The agency generated input from stakeholders on the vision for the site, functionality issues and the wish list for later phase development. A site audit and creative brief defined the scope, timeframe and measures of success. A site map, three home page and sub-page layout options, three rounds of revisions and up to 40 programmed pages with content management direction gave the team the generous boundaries needed to achieve a solution to satisfy multiple constituencies.

Result
Refreshed and easily navigated, the Port Authority website reflects its brand and community impact in a compelling, engaging way. Hits to the site have increased while the Port Authority’s ability to keep the site current and relevant has been significantly improved.
